Mortgage Loan Processor

Reports To: Mortgage Operations Officer
Amount of Travel Required: No Travel
Work Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm weekdays with other days and times only on an “as needed” basis.


POSITION SUMMARY
Mortgage loan processors are responsible for completing and verifying financial information on loan applications. They must look over the application files and contact verification sources such as credit bureaus, sellers, realtors, and buyers’ employers to make sure the information is thorough, accurate and meets individual loan specifications. The data they must confirm concern the type of mortgage, terms of the loan, and a buyer’s assets and income. Mortgage loan processors have to correct data errors and obtain missing information when necessary. Collecting information such as a property’s appraisal and title policy are also the responsibility of mortgage loan processors. The application for an approved buyer must proceed to the underwriting process where the processor manages the communication on the underwriting requirement with the loan officer and other interested parties.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Have a sense of urgency and professionalism in all aspects of the position.

• Process loans from origination to close in compliance with established regulations and guidelines.

• Set up files and order title insurance, flood and tax certificates and surveys, reviewing for problems upon receipt.

• Verify accuracy of loan documents including income, credit, appraisal and title insurance.

• Prepare closing documents and arrange closings with loan officer and closing agents
• Issue proper disclosures as required by federal regulatory compliance

• Maintain accuracy of loan origination system

• Assist team with day-to-day functions based on workload and task allocation.

• With the loan officer, coordinate with buyers, sellers, title companies, escrow agents, surveyors and real estate agents to obtain additional documentation, complete loan submissions and perform closings

• Respond promptly to customer requests, problems and needs.

• Handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately.

• Adhere to all governmental regulations and bank policies and procedures as directed.

• Maintain a positive attitude and working relationship with all team members and customers.

• Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

• Perform all others duties as requested or assigned

Education : High school Diploma or Equivalent


Experience: 1 to 2 years industry experience preferred.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED;
2 years Mortgage Loan Processor experience preferred.
